Permits
The Suisun Resource Conservation District represents and assists the private landowners within the Suisun Marsh on a variety of issues on the Federal, State, and local levels. The District provides landowners technical support and assistance in the permitting process for wetland habitat management. The goal is to ensure the wetland and wildlife habitat values of the Suisun Marsh are sustained and enhanced.

Marsh Management Fire, Smoke Management Plan

Marsh Management Fire Smoke Management Plan   To obtain a Marsh burn permit from the BAAQMD a Smoke Management Plan must be submitted. A Smoke Management Plan form (MM-1) with instructions to complete the form are attached.

Regional General Permit #3

Clapper Rail Restrictions   Exterior levee maintenance restrictions in areas identified as Clapper Rail habitat between February 1st and August 31st.

Department of the Army Regional General Permit 3   The California Department of Fish and Game and the landowners represented by the Suisun Resource Conservation District are authorized to work in areas subject to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers within the Suisun Marsh.

Gate Diversions for Chinook Salmon and Delta Smelt   To ensure compliance with the conditions of the permit, and minimize the entrainment of protected aquatic species, the SRCD and the DFG are required to conduct five fall and four spring diversion monitoring checks.

National Marine Fisheries Service Biological Opinion   The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) biological opinion of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer's (USACE) Regional General Permit 3 (RGP3) for maintenance activities is the Suisun Marsh.

Wetlands Maintenance Application   The landowners represented by the Suisun Resource Conservation District and the CA Department of Fish and Game are authorized to work in areas subject to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers within the Suisun Marsh. 2010 SRCD Annual Landowner Workshop
The SRCD Annual Landowner Workshop will be Wednesday, April 28th, 2010 from 8 AM to 2 PM held at Rush Ranch in the Suisun Marsh. Cost is $10.00 which covers donuts and coffee and a buffet lunch. For a Workshop flyer click on the News tab.

Spring 2010 Marsh Burn Season
BAAQMD Compliance Advisory ~ Advance Notice

The Spring 2010 Marsh Burn Season will begin on March 1 and end on April 15. In past years, the Spring burn season was February 1 thru March 31, however landowners found February not conducive to marsh burning due to late rains and wet vegetation.
