Portable Pump Program
Through the signing of the SMPA, funds by DWR and the USBR were secured to purchase portable agriculture pumps for the marsh. The purpose of the pumps is to aid clubs with water management so they can achieve optimal habitat goals.
The SRCD has purchased eight pumps. There are five 12” Pumpmaster tow-pumps and three 8” Pioneer Trash pumps available for landowner use. The rental costs for the tow pump are $3/hr plus current diesel costs and the trash pump is $5/hr plus current diesel costs. In order to rent a pump, contact your local water manager for a site survey to determine the type of pump that will best accomodate your pumping needs. The SRCD will deliver, set up, service, and breakdown the pump as part of the rental agreement. During the rental period, the SRCD will need access to the property to perform any needed pump maintenance.
