Presley Program
The California Waterfowl Habitat Program (Presley Program) was created to help support landowners in their efforts to preserve and enhance wetland waterfowl habitat. Developed from the California Waterfowl Habitat Preservation Act of 1987.
To help support landowners in their efforts to preserve and enhance wetland waterfowl habitat, the California Department of Fish and Game created the California Waterfowl Habitat Program (Presley Program). To qualify for this program, the landowner would follow set program guidelines, including two site visits a year by a A California Fish and Game Biologist who would make habitat improvement recommendations. For participating in this program the landowner would receive $20/per acre enrolled. Program enrollments last about 10 years, and applications are accepted year round. The intent of this program is to provide the necessary habitat for nesting and brooding waterfowl.
